Kim Zolciak suffered a mini stroke on Wednesday following a flight from Los Angeles to Atlanta.

The “Dancing with the Stars” contestant posted a selfie from her hospital bed on Thursday morning, issuing a medical update via Instagram.

“The last 24hrs have been whirlwind! I landed yesterday morning from LAX (took the red eye right after “DWTS”) I got home and within minutes suffered a TIA (mini stroke) the left side of my body went completely numb and my speech was gone,” Zolciak, 37, explained. “Extremely grateful for @sladeosborne @briellebiermann @nikitpressley @kroybiermann for quick reactions! I have 100%of my feeling back THANK GOD. Still in the hospital but I just know I’m getting released
today!”

Fight at Chinese karaoke bar leaves singer with ten-inch 'microphone' shoved so far into his rear, doctors have to cut open his abdomen to remove it

A Chinese man recently found himself having a 10-inch long cylindrical object stuck in his rectum and had to go through a two-hour operation to have it removed.

Doctors in a hospital in Guangzhou, southern China, were surprised to see a microphone-shaped item lodged in the man's colon after an X-ray, reported People's Daily Online.  

The patient refused to explain how the object had got there, but media reports suggest the man had been involved in a fight at a karaoke bar when the object was inserted into his body.

The middle-aged man, named only by his surname Cai, had no visible injuries when he arrived at the First Affiliated Hospital of Guangzhou University of Chinese Medicine on August 8.


However, he had a strange and pained expression on his face and pointed at his rear to the staff.

Surgeons initially tried to extract the object from the man's anus but found that it was lodged in too deeply so they had to operate on him.

After two hours operation, where they opened Mr Cai up from his abdomen, they were able to remove the object.

It is thought the cylindrical object had already been inside the man for 27 hours before he sought medical help.

Media reports indicate the man had been involved in an altercation at a karaoke when the mystery object was inserted into his body.



Although the doctors did not disclose what exactly the object was, they revealed that it measured approximate 10 inches in length and 1.5 inches in diameter and was made of plastic.

The man is now recuperating in the hospital and has refused interviews by the media.

Dr Sun, who treated the man, said that he had previously treated a man in a similar disposition.

A chef had come into the hospital with a lodged cucumber, which had split his colon.

The doctor advised that 'foreign objects in rectum shouldn't be treated lightly. In certain circumstances it could even lead to death.'

Birdman involved in alleged conspiracy to kill Lil Wayne

A man charged with shooting into Lil Wayne's tour buses on a Georgia highway called cellphones linked to rappers Young Thug and Birdman before and after the gunfire, according to an indictment in the case.

A grand jury indicted Jimmy Carlton Winfrey on 30 counts including charges of aggravated assault and racketeering. The June 25 indictment says the gunshots following Lil Wayne's Atlanta performance April 26 stemmed from feuding regarding the rapper's contract with Cash Money Records, the Atlanta label co-founded by Birdman, whose real name is Bryan Williams.

Lil Wayne and 11 others were traveling on the two buses struck by gunfire on Interstate 285 in Cobb County north of Atlanta, but nobody was injured. The indictment says Winfrey called "cellphones connected to Jeffrey Williams" — also known as Young Thug — before the shooting occurred and then afterward called a cellphone "owned by Bryan Williams." Jeffrey and Bryan Williams were not charged in relation to the bus shootings.

Lawrence Zimmerman, a defense attorney for Winfrey, declined to comment Thursday. A representative for Jeffrey Williams also declined to comment. A publicist for Bryan Williams did not immediately return an email message.

The attack on Lil Wayne's tour buses came a few months after he filed a federal lawsuit in New York claiming Cash Money Records owed him $8 million. The suit, which sought $51 million, was soon dropped by the rapper. Lil Wayne, whose real name is Dwayne Michael Carter, had been mentored by Birdman since starting his career as a teenager.

The indictment says Jeffrey Williams sided with Bryan Williams in the label dispute with Lil Wayne. It says Winfrey appeared in an online video in which Jeffrey Williams made threats toward Lil Wayne.

When Lil Wayne performed at an Atlanta nightclub in April, the indictment says, Atlanta police saw Winfrey pull up outside the venue in a white Chevrolet Camaro. Officers noticed that Winfrey "had an assault rifle in his vehicle," according to the document. It says police "fearing gang violence" escorted Lil Wayne from the club and patrol cars stayed with his buses until they left the Atlanta city limits.

Jeffrey Williams was arrested Wednesday and charged with making terroristic threats in an unrelated case in neighboring DeKalb County. Police say he threatened to shoot a mall security guard in the face after being told the leave the building.

Jeffrey Williams' attorney, Brian Steel, declined to comment Thursday on his arrest in DeKalb County as well as the allegations in the bus shooting indictment.

Career Criminal Arrested For 41st Time

A Rhode Island man who has already been arrested 40 times in two states faces a lengthy prison sentence after his 41st arrest.

Brandon Hayes, 30, of Central Falls, was in a car that was pulled over for traffic violations on Sunday on Interstate 95 in Warwick, state police Col. Steven O'Donnell said in a release.

The trooper performing the stop said Hayes, a passenger in the vehicle, had three bags of marijuana on his person. The trooper learned that as the vehicle was pulling over, Hayes removed a loaded handgun from his waist and put it under the passenger seat. The trooper recovered the 9mm pistol. Drug packaging material was found in the trunk, police said.

Hayes was charged with several drug offenses and with being a felon in possession of a firearm.

Hayes has a criminal history that includes 38 arrests in Massachusetts and two in Rhode Island, including gun and drug charges, state police said. He recently served 18 months behind bars for a 2012 assault conviction.

A federal judge ordered Hayes held without bail at his arraignment Monday. Attempts to reach him for comment Thursday were not successful. A phone call to a number listed for Hayes in Central Falls went unanswered. His federal defender did not immediately return a call.

If he is convicted on the latest gun charge, he faces up to 10 years behind bars.

Worker killed in Volkswagen robot accident

A technician has been killed by a robot at a Volkswagen plant near Kassel, Germany.

A 21 year old external contractor was installing the robot together with a colleague when he was struck in the chest by the robot and pressed against a metal plate. He later died of his injuries, reports Chris Bryant, the FT's Frankfurt correspondent.

Prosecutors have opened an investigation into how the accident occurred.

Robot-related fatalities are rare in western production plants as robots are kept behind safety cages to prevent accidental contact with humans.

In this instance the contractor was standing inside the safety cage when the accident occurred.

The second employee was outside the cage and was unharmed.

A Volkswagen spokesman stressed that the robot was not one of the new generation of lightweight collaborative robots that work side-by-side with workers on the production line and forgo safety cages.

VW said the robot had not suffered a technical defect.

Rick Ross arrested on kidnapping charges

Rapper Rick Ross and his bodyguard were arrested Wednesday morning on charges of kidnapping, aggravated assault and aggravated battery.

Ross, whose real name is William Roberts, was arrested Wednesday morning by the Metro Atlanta Fugitive Task Force on outstanding warrants for aggravated assault.

Ross’ bodyguard, Nadrian James, was also arrested.

According to an arrest warrant, Ross was having work done on property that he bought in Fayette County. Ross and James allegedly got into a fight with one of the workers and pistol-whipped him. The report says the men hit Jonathan Zamudio several times with a gun and chipped two of Zamudio's teeth. Zamudio also suffered serious neck and jaw injuries, according to the warrant.

The warrant says the pair held Zamudio against his will at a guest house.

Both men are charged with kidnapping, aggravated assault and aggravated battery. 

Ross went before a Magistrate Court judge on Wednesday morning. The judge told him that he will have to remain behind bars until a bond hearing can be held in Superior Court.

Ross’ attorney wouldn’t answer any questions about the charges, except to say that there are two sides to a story and Ross is in good spirits and appreciates his fans’ support. 

Eddie Murphy to receive Kennedy Center's 2015 Mark Twain Prize

Eddie Murphy, famous for his standup routines, films and his early breakout on "Saturday Night Live," will be awarded the nation's top prize for humor this year by the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts, officials said Thursday.

Murphy, 54, will receive the Mark Twain Prize for American Humor on Oct. 18 in a show that will be broadcast nationally. The humor prize honors those who influence society in the tradition of Samuel Clemens, the writer, satirist and social commentator better known as Mark Twain.

Through his work, Murphy "has shown that like Mark Twain, he was years ahead of his time," said Kennedy Center President Deborah Rutter.

Tracy Morgan, Adam Sandler, Chris Rock and Samuel L. Jackson have all hailed Murphy for his influence and for breaking new ground in films. Morgan has called Murphy his "comic hero" and said Murphy set the tone for the entire industry long ago.

In a written statement, Murphy said he was deeply honored by the recognition and to join the list of past recipients of the Twain Prize. Past honorees include Jay Leno, Carol Burnett, Tina Fey and Whoopi Goldberg.

Murphy has had a "consistently brilliant comedic career" in many different aspects of comedy, said Cappy McGarr, one of the humor prize show's executive producers.

"He is truly a transformative comedian and humorist," McGarr said. "Like Mark Twain, he talks about provocative issues and he is really, really funny while doing it.

Murphy's films have been among the highest-grossing comedies, including "48 Hours," ''Trading Places," ''Dr. Dolittle" and "Coming to America."

Murphy got his break in comedy in 1980 when he joined the cast of "Saturday Night Live." He went on to become one of the film industry's top box office performers as an actor. The Kennedy Center said Murphy is the most commercially successful African-American actor in film history.

The entertainer has insisted he is retired now and only makes rare appearances.

In February, Murphy made his first return to "SNL" since 1984 for the show's 40th anniversary reunion special. But his role was limited. Former "SNL" cast member Norm Macdonald later revealed a plan was scuttled for Murphy to impersonate Bill Cosby behind a bar on the show. The idea came amid Cosby's ongoing accusations that he drugged dozens of women and sexually assaulted them. In the end, Murphy wouldn't make fun of Cosby, who won the Mark Twain Prize in 2009.

"Eddie decides the laughs are not worth it," Macdonald said in February. "He will not kick a man when he is down."
